The Glands / Georgia Theatre Re-Opens

August 2nd, 2011 | 09:50

Went to the first show at the newly rebuilt Georgia Theatre in Athens on Monday night to see The Glands, and Madeline opened.

It was a great show. The Glands haven’t played a show in forever. Kathleen and I had seen them play a long time ago at the now closed Echo Lounge in East Atlanta.

Brent was supposed to go with us, but bailed at the last minute. Oh well. We had fun, but late nights and week days don’t go over as easy as they used to.

Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun

Kathleen and I went to see Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun, a local Atlanta band, on Saturday night at the Earl. It was the album release show for Wild Fire, which I found out later reading the liner notes was funded by Kickstarter, which is cool. Jtrav’s band Sealions played as well.

Christmas Eve Dinner

Every year since we got married, Kathleen and I have spent Christmas Eve at home making a special dinner. The first year was Cornish game hens, then a whole roasted turkey, and this year we made rack of lamb.

It was awesome. This qualifies as the most expensive meal I’ve ever prepared at home, but was totally worth it.

Happy New Year!

January 3rd, 2011 | 11:53

I may have said this before… but this year, I am going to start using this thing more.

We spent NYE this year at home with our friend James, visiting from Edinburgh, and his girlfriend Alex from England.

Stayed up waaay too late catching up and just having good ‘ol James times. Then went to our traditional new years day lunch at Cafe Bombay.

Had a great 11 days off, but it’s over and I’m back at work.
