So… I’ve been holding the cord to my blog pinched together, and now I’m letting it go… so you’re gonna get a bunch of posts at once… so be sure to read a few posts deep!

Kathleen and I took a long weekend trip up to New York to celebrate our first anniversary. We had a great time and ate lots of great food.

Kathleen and I saw Camera Obscura at the Variety Playhouse Friday night. It was supposed to have been like back in June, but there was a family emergency or such in the band and the had to postpone. But they came back, and we got to see a good show.

Just wanted to post this now, because it’s the first time I’ve ever had an internet connection on a flight.

Pretty cool, and way faster than I expected it to be. Feels like a cable connection.

Don’t know why it took them so long to figure this out, it’s very convenient. Too bad there aren’t power outlets though (at least on this plane).

We saw Blitzen Trapper at The Earl last Thursday night. Pretty good.

Wye Oak opened and they were pretty good. I wish I had known more of their stuff before we went.

We saw The Low Anthem and Blind Pilot at The Earl last Sunday. Blind Pilot was really good. They have a lot of atypical instrumentation (Upright bass, electric vibraphone, etc). It comes together to make some quite pretty music.

Low Anthem was ok, I may have liked it more if I hadn’t been so tired (most of their stuff was slow).

I don’t know how we do it, but no matter how late we show up, we always end up right at the stage at the Earl.
